Zigic to start and score for White Eagles

Guest blogger Reed Warner wrote this for me.
Nikola Zigic is the tallest soccer player to be playing in the World Cup. The six foot seven striker will be a major force to be reckoned with. Zigic is a target man, and this will be his second consecutive world cup with Serbia.
He got on the score sheet four years ago in Germany, and will look to get firing as Serbia kick off their world cup campaign against Ghana on June 13. The towering striker has plenty of support, with the likes of Jovanovic, Krasic, Tosic, and Kajcar in the Midfield. Strong in the air, and with a powerful shot, the Serbian hit-man can be among the top scorers in the world cup if he get's firing. Serbia will need him to score goals and support the midfield as Serbia's group is a tough one. Not to say that Serbia isn't up to the task. This is one the most talented squads I have seen.
What makes me excited to watch Zigic and the Serbian team is that he is built more like a basketball player then a soccer player and how opposing defenders try and handle him. He towers over most defenders, and is fast for his size. It is funny at times to see how he matches up against defenders. Soccer is not all about strength, there are subtle aspects to it too. Fortunately has strength, aerial ability, intelligence with the ball, and is a team player. I am sure other soccer fans in Europe and the USA are excited to watch the burly striker in South Africa this summer. There are expectations of him to score at least a goal from many fans. While I cannot make the trip to South Africa, I will be enjoying watching Zigic and all the passion he brings on my direct tv bundle packages. Come on White Eagles, now is the time to soar and win!
