Reffing hockey

Guest post written by Bruce Lewis
During college I was looking for an extra job on the side to help cover certain college costs, like pizza and beer. So I started doing something that I knew I would be really great at, like reffing junior league hockey games. Well, I thought that it was just a temporary job then, but I've continued doing it for the years since college.
It's a little harder to ref all these games with a full-time job but I say it's never too early to start saving up money for your kids' college educations, even if you don't even have kids yet. I was online with my clear internet the other day and explaining that to my brother when he said that he thought that it would be a very smart idea because he has a few kids and he said that the projected cost of college tuition for them in about 15 years give him nightmares.
Well, I think that in the meantime it's pretty great that being around hockey can help my kids go to college decades later.
