Why I Love Watching the MSG Network

Authored by Oswaldo Blackburn
I'm not a huge fan of sports per se, with one major exception: hockey. I love the New York Rangers, and I watch every single one of their games on the MSG network. The presentation on MSG is second to none, and the broadcasters for Rangers games, Sam Rosen and Joe Micheletti, are the best in the business. The guys in the studio and at ice level, including Al Trautwig and John Giannone, are also awesome. The whole crew on MSG network makes watching Rangers games even funner than they already are.
Even when hockey isn't on, though, I'll often fire up my DIRECTV packages and turn on MSG to see what other programs are running. MSG likes to run a lot of historical games of the Rangers. Sometimes it's fun to catch games from the 1970s and see some of the old Rangers greats in action. MSG also runs documentaries on Rangers teams and players. My favorite Rangers team, the 1994 Stanley Cup Champions, get a lot of play in these documentaries, as do the four heroes from that generation - Mark Messier, Brian Leetch, Adam Graves, and Mike Richter.
MSG also plays other sports related programs. They also show New York Knicks basketball games, and those are fun to watch once in awhile. MSG also shows high school sports events, horse racing, and music and comedy shows that take place at the World's Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden.
